Safety First

The bottom line is, simply wearing your favorite fashion jacket won’t cut it, protection is and always will be a necessity. When jacket shopping, it’s advisable to pay attention to abrasion resistance – the thickness of the leather or textile should be sufficient to protect you in a slide. A basic rule of thumb: The thicker the fabric, the better the slide time, and the safer your hide. Interior seams are also not advisable if you want optimal abrasion protection.

You also want to opt for something with high visibility and weather resistance for obvious reasons. A zip-out insulation liner will enable you to cope with the elements and built-in armor for your back, shoulders and elbows is never optional.
